Signet 100 Wood Clarinet USA
Signet 100 Wood Clarinet USA Bb
Condition: Good
Signet 100 wooden clarinet, produced in the USA. Comes with case and mouthpiece.
The wood-body Signet 100 is commonly described as a step-up instrument offering a warmer tone than beginner plastic clarinets.
Signet 100 wood clarinet, made in the USA by Selmer USA and known for its warm, resonant tone and dependable playability. Featuring a genuine wood body, this intermediate-level instrument offers a richer sound than many entry-level clarinets and is a great choice for advancing students, community band musicians, or collectors of vintage American-made woodwinds. Selmer instruments have been played by legendary clarinetists including Benny Goodman and Artie Shaw, helping establish the company's long-standing reputation in the woodwind world. An interesting bit of history: the Signet line was part of Selmer USA's postwar production and was manufactured for decades as a quality American-made alternative to imported European clarinets.
Item comes with a Pro-Tec, PRO PAC case. Case is nylon covering a hard, protective plastic with carrying strap and side-pocket. The side pocket has a pencil holder and plenty of room for extra reeds, cork grease, and other accessories.
In 1984, Protec developed and patented the PRO PAC case to be a lighter alternative to traditional wood cases while offering the storage benefits of a gig bag. Today PRO PAC cases are trusted by professional musicians around the world to protect their priceless instruments. Each is carefully crafted using premium materials resulting in a superior case that is second to none. At the heart is an instrument fit that was meticulously engineered to be exceptionally safe and secure. PRO PAC cases are a true reflection of Protec's vision: innovative design for creative people.
Corks are in decent shape and still have some life left in them. Pads show obvious signs of use/wear. However, the instrument was play-tested and is in functional, working condition. There is also a hairline crack in the bell (as shown in the pictures).
