The AS500 is much more than a basic entry-level horn. Its thoughtful design includes comfortable key ergonomics, an adjustable right-hand thumb rest, a high F-sharp key, durable nickel-plated keywork, and protective features intended to help safeguard vulnerable parts of the mechanism. These practical details make a real difference for musicians who spend time practicing, rehearsing, and performing. With the familiar, expressive voice of the alto saxophone, it's right at home in concert band, jazz band, school ensembles, and a wide variety of other musical styles. Although this isn't the professional Paris series, the AS500 benefits from the experience and reputation of a company that has earned its place in saxophone history.

For students, developing players, or anyone looking for a dependable alto from a recognized name, the AS500 delivers the trusted Selmer name, thoughtful engineering, and the kind of versatility that makes it a standout choice for any developing saxophonist. *As shown in the pictures, there are two small dents by the thumb rest and a few spots where the lacquer has worn through. Overall it's quite clean and in great shape.
